July 4, 2011 (Happy Independence Day!)

Hey Everyone!

So today was an amazing week. the bad part was that it was raining and freeeeeeeezing cold alllllll weeek, but we still had some amazing experiences. first of all, elder nash came and talked to the whole mission. he is one of the seventies of the church which is like a big time leader to say the least. he shared alot of stuff with us, and when he talked about the atonement of christ i was wanting to cry the whole time. it was an amazing experience to be able to be with him and shake his hand and take pics with him and everything. we werent planning on having baptisms this week, bnut saturday the coolest thing ever happend. we were teaching gods plan for us here in the earth to a family, and the daugters said they wanted to be baptized. we were planning on having their baptisms at the end of the month or something, but they told us, ¨no, we want to get baptized tomorow.¨ we quickly got them ready and had an amazing baptismal for them and one other kid that just turned eight, and it was amazing. like 70 people were there which was really cool, and all in all yesterday was one of the most spiritual days of my life. the 2 girls that got baptized too are amazing and are really excited to be members of the church. anyways ya it was a really great week, and somehow were already in the last week of changes so i let you know next week if anythings changed.

June 13, 2011

hey everyone,
so it was a good week here in cusco, but also a really weird one because my companion is passing some really weird stuff. he suffered from an accident when he was a kid and to make a long story short, a part of his brain doesnt work now, the part that retains info and stuff. anyways he has a lot of trouble remembering and memorizing things, but this week, thursday night his memory completely erased. he didnt remember hardly anything that has happend within the last year of his life. he didnt even know who i was when i walked in the room. anyways 2 days passed by like that, and now hes starting to remember again. the whole thing seems really sketchy though, and were thinking it all might be a big lie or that he might have some other kind of problem. ive just been trying to support him through everything though and be here for him until he gets all his examines done and they find out what the real problem is. this is something that ive never really heard of before and i really have no idea how to handle it, so its been a strange week. the only time ive ever heard of this is in the movie 50 first dates, but its another thing to live it. im pretty sure hes going to have some tests done this week though so i really hope they can help him get cured because hes an awesome person and is a great missionary. it makes me super sad because he is so excited to be here in the mission, but could posibly get sent home to recibe the help he needs. idk..this whole week just felt like i was living in a dream or something to be honest. anyways ya im doing good though and am healthy so dont worry about me. and as far as the work goes, were just going to keep working as much as possible with the time that we have. love elder anderson! ill send pics next week...

HEy Everyone!
so im oficially in my new sector which is in Cusco itself!! Its really awesome, and some wayyyyy different because i went from a small little pueblito to a huge city like cusco! to say the least, my first couple of days here i felt like George of the Jungle!! the work here seems to be really good though, and weve already found a couple of great families. they just opened our sector up too, so we are pretty much starting from scratch here. we didnt have church yesterday because it was their presidential elections, but i cant wait to attend (Nellie lol) in a big ward again and to get to know all the members. my companions name is elder junes, and he is only in his second change so im basically training him which is cool. hes a good guy and has been through alot in his life so its cool to get to know him. oh and hes 19 and is from cerro de pasco peru. also, im a district leader again, and am now in charge of 8 missionaries. its alot more work, and im usually up late talking on the phone with them helping them and stuff. anyways, im oficiallyu in cusco, and my area is called Santiago 2. oh and the pics finally worked so enjoy ha!
love you all Elder Anderson!

Hey Everyone,
So this week went awesome and im glad to say that the wedding and their baptisms went really good. saturday was a day packed full of stuff. first, the couple had their wedding at 9 in the morning, then afterwards we went to sicuani and had their baptisms. it all went really good, and then we returned to pitumarca and had the recepcion with all the members of the church in pitumarca. it was an amazing experience, and one that i hope to have again in the mission. now i found out that i have a change to another place so i have to say bye to all the families that ive gotten to know which really stinks! i loved my time here in pitumarca though, and i learned so much here. im going to work really hard in my next area to apply everything that ive learned here, and to learn even more. next week ill let you know where im at. love you all! Hey Everyone,
so this week went really good, and  i had some cool experiences. as we were studying one morning we got a call from one of president calderon´s assistants and he let me know that he was in pitumarca with president and that they came to visit us, so we got the chance to work with them the whole day which was awesome. my companion worked with elder ruiz, the assistant, and i worked with president calderon the whole day which was amaaaazing! i learned a ton from working with him the whole day and the stuff that ive learned has already helped me a ton! he was really happy with the work we are doing too, and congratulated us a ton which was really nice. it was really fun being able to get to know him and all that too because hes a really cool guy and not that many missionarys have gotten the chance to work one on one with him. since he was really happy with the work that we are doing here he said that i might have  another change here so ill just wait and see. this week is really exciting too, because it is the week of the wedding of the couple here, and of their baptisms..anyways im doing good here and  loving all the stuff thats going on..thanks for all the support, and ill send more pics next week!   Love Elder Anderson
